So yes, I created another blog. And, like previous times before I am proclaiming to update this on a regular basis, even though I am fully aware that very few, if any people read this.
My last attempt at this, was entitled "Sometimes Nothing is a Real Cool Hand," which was of course a reference to Cool Hand Luke and of course some of my feelings on life at the time.
I thought about calling this one "So it Goes," which would have of course been a reference to Kurt Vonnegut and Slaughterhouse 5 and perhaps would have been extremely fitting considering the two year anniversary of his death was yesterday.
In the end though, I chose "Do Androids Dream of electric Sheep," which was the novel Blade Runner is based on. Although I had seen parts before, it was not until recently that I sat down and gave the film the thorough watching it deserved. It quickly jumped into my list of favorite and respected movies and in a way this the film is a tribute to Vonnegut in light of its underlying question: what is human and what defines humanity?
Blogs are always criticized and I expect this to be no different. It should be stated though, that I am not particularly writing this for other people. I have always tried to not place too much relevance on what others thought of me, but inevitably there are always people close to us whose opinion we do genuinely care about. Unfortunately, those people can come and go. If nothing else, I write this as a record. A place to archive and hopefully delay forgetting about those things that quickly pass in our lives.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tan Hauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain."
-Roy Batty in Blade Runner
If you've read this far, thank you. Here's the payoff. New Kid Cudi. Perhaps the release I am most excited about this upcoming summer:
